We set off quite late today, knowing it would be a short stage.
We walked through a pine forest, on a road made of some kind of sand. It was really comfortable to walk on—my feet were grateful!
Eventually, we ended up back on the road. There was less traffic than yesterday, but still very little sidewalk. It was a long, straight stretch with no shade under the bright sun, and we were eager to reach our destination.
Less than a kilometer from our goal, a teenager spotted us and invited us in for coffee. He was at home with friends and recognized us as pilgrims. His family welcomes passing pilgrims to offer them a bit of rest, knowing how exhausting that part of the path can be. They generously offered us food, water, and coffee. The host, Carlos, shared that he’s planning to walk the Camino with his daughter soon.
We arrived at a private home for the night and met two other pilgrims who had recently started their journey.
Nous sommes partis assez tard aujourd’hui, sachant que l’étape serait courte.
Nous avons traversé une forêt de pins, sur un chemin fait d’une sorte de sable. C’était vraiment agréable à marcher — mes pieds ont apprécié !
Finalement, nous avons rejoint la route. Il y avait moins de circulation qu’hier, mais toujours très peu de trottoir. C’était une longue ligne droite sans ombre sous un soleil éclatant, et nous étions impatients d’arriver.
À moins d’un kilomètre de notre destination, un adolescent nous a aperçus et nous a invités à prendre un café. Il était chez lui avec des amis et nous a reconnus comme pèlerins. Sa famille accueille les pèlerins de passage pour leur offrir un moment de repos, sachant à quel point ce tronçon peut être épuisant. Ils nous ont généreusement offert de la nourriture, de l’eau et du café. L’hôte, Carlos, nous a confié qu’il prévoyait de faire le chemin de Compostelle avec sa fille prochainement.
Nous sommes arrivés dans une maison privée pour passer la nuit, où nous avons rencontré deux autres pèlerins qui venaient de commencer leur marche.
