Day 57 / Jour 57 León

Sunday April 27th, 2025

Short walk to León today — I arrived at the hotel before noon and was able to check in early. I also received the package from Célia with my medication for the next 20 days, which should be enough to cover the rest of the journey.

For lunch, Ghislaine kindly invited me (a birthday treat!). We shared a glass of red wine and a prime beef steak — I can’t even remember the last time I had red meat! It was a really thoughtful gesture. After lunch, she continued her walk to avoid staying too long in the big city.

I spent the afternoon visiting León and tried to find a swimsuit to use the hotel’s spa and swimming pool. Unfortunately, it’s Sunday and the stores were closed.

Later, I ran into Marco again, who invited me for a birthday beer. It was nice to have more time to chat and get to know each other better.

I also received more belated birthday wishes, always a pleasure to read.

After dinner, I went back to my room to watch a movie in Spanish before heading to bed. Tomorrow will be a new adventure!

Petite marche jusqu’à León aujourd’hui — je suis arrivé à l’hôtel avant midi et j’ai pu faire mon check-in en avance. J’ai également récupéré le colis envoyé par Célia avec mes médicaments pour les 20 prochains jours, ce qui devrait suffire pour couvrir le reste du voyage.

Pour le déjeuner, Ghislaine m’a gentiment invité (un cadeau d’anniversaire !). Nous avons partagé un verre de vin rouge et un steak de bœuf de qualité — je ne me souviens même plus de la dernière fois que j’ai mangé de la viande rouge ! C’était vraiment très attentionné de sa part. Après le repas, elle a repris la marche pour éviter de passer trop de temps en ville.

J’ai passé l’après-midi à visiter León et j’ai essayé de trouver un maillot de bain pour profiter du spa et de la piscine de l’hôtel. Malheureusement, c’est dimanche et les magasins étaient fermés.

Plus tard, j’ai recroisé Marco qui m’a invité à boire une bière pour mon anniversaire. C’était sympa de pouvoir discuter un peu plus et mieux faire connaissance.

J’ai aussi reçu d’autres messages d’anniversaire en retard, toujours agréable à lire.

Après le dîner, je suis remonté dans ma chambre pour regarder un film en espagnol avant d’aller dormir. Demain sera une nouvelle journée d’aventure !
